We now have clearer information about what happened earlier today when the “Dignity” boat carrying surgeons, journalists plus about 3.5 tons of medical supplies for the beleaguered Gaza hospitals was damaged.
The Free Gaza Movement which was organising the aid mission had sailed from Cyprus late yesterday afternoon. The group said the Dignity was in international waters about 115km off the coast of Gaza when an Israeli naval vessel repeatedly rammed the small boat.
The Dignity was reported to be taking on water as it moved slowly towards Tyre in south Lebanon today, Tuesday. It is understood that nobody on board has been injured but it looks like even this relatively small amount of aid is regarded as too much for the Israelis to permit through to help the desperate Gaza hospitals tend the wounded.
